I’m back from the 1.5 sick days I allowed myself to beat the sickness. I am now just rummaging through the bloggable notes that went down while I was gone.

UK’s Mr Hudson works with Kanye West (they worked together on 808s and Heartbreaks‘ stellar standout “Paranoid”) for his latest single, “Anyone But Him”. Mr Hudson cites Bowie and Prince has his musical influences — I don’t know about you, but I think he’s onto something.

Mr Hudson’s album, Straight No Chaser was released in the UK in October of 2009. The US album release date is pending for some ridiculous reason. Listen to “Anyone But Him” below:

Check out Mr Hudson’s 30 Rock-pimped, quasi-epic collaboration with Jay-Z, “Forever Young“.

His entire album is likable, but it’s too much auto-tune. This song is the perfect example. You just listen to it and ask “Why?” repeatedly. It doesn’t nothing for the song.
