For this year’s Record Store Day (4/21!), Neon Indian is releasing a new 10″ single featuring Era Extraña highlight “Hex Girlfriend,” backed with this remix by New Wave revivalist and all around awesome guy, Twin Shadow.
On his remix, Twin Shadow actually strips the New Wave-y elements from “Hex Girlfriend” and throws on an extra layer of mind numbing reverb and lets outer space drum loops and tense string arrangements carry the song, instead of relying on Neon Indian’s signature (and potent) synth muscle.
