1. The Roots – 75 Bars (Black’s Reconstruction) ZP3 | MP3
“Show me the puppet that don’t need a puppeteer” go the lyrics to this new Roots single. You show us that, and we’ll show you an iPod that doesn’t need this MP3. [Nah Right]
2. Lupe Fiasco – Superstar (remix feat. Young Jeezy and T.I.) ZP3 | MP3
After a semi-disastrous sophomore album, Fiasco impressively staves off irrelevance with this solid remix featuring Young Jeezy, T.I., and a pretty sweet X-Men reference. [Just a Moment]
3. Grizzly Bear – While You Wait for the Others (live on KCRW) ZP3 | MP3
This new, hypermelodic, reverb-soaked, as-yet-unreleased track is probably now the best thing in Grizzly Bear’s arsenal, and even though it’s only Thursday, we’re pretty comfortable declaring it the best MP3 you’ll download this week. [Deaf Indie Elephants]
4. Chromeo – Bonafide Lovin’ (Hatchmatik remix feat. Teki Latex)
Chromeo’s song about the advantages of loving an older man makes us feel better about getting older, but Teki Latex’s use of The Neverending Story as a metaphor for sex has ruined our childhood. [Discobelle]
5. Portishead – Silence These guys haven’t released an album since 1998. But they’re back! And they sound more or less the way they did in 1998. [Nocna Hudba]

That Lupe remix is hot!!
greta list. my personal fav is the Root’s newest
Please explain to me how The Cool is a semi-disterous album… that album is fire from start to finish!!!
i can’t believe you said the cool is “semi-disastrous”…thats ridiculous.
Now luis, im generally a fan most of your picks but im going with ‘ip’ and mr annonymous here…how on earth was The Cool a “semi-disastrous” album?!? I personally think it’s pretty brilliant as sophomore’s go…Im unsure about the direction alot of hip-hop is heading these days but Lupe is one of the few ‘concious acts’ out there. lookoin forward to hearing your thinking…
