– Click Click (ft. E-40)

Last year, “Vuvuvu” and “Bounce” had MSTRKRFT fans aching for the rest of the new album. This MSTRKFRT has listened to the album and is sort of disappointed. Fist of God may not be what I hoped it would be, but it’s not bad by any means. It still has some bangers in there. “Click Click” is a great proof of that. I could have done without the E-40 feature, or maybe E could have just picked it up a bit. But at the end of the day, “Click Click” and the rest of Fist of God will make for hot, sweaty fun on the floor.

– Synthesise

After “Click Click,” Simian Mobile Disco’s new joint, “Synthesise” sounds sort of tame — because it is pretty tame. It’s definitely no “Hustler” or “I Believe,” but as Pitchfork points out: “If Justice are blog house’s Daft Punk, then SMD are looking more and more like its Chemical Brothers.” Word, my oh-so-elloquent brethren, word.

Just so you know, Dim Mak sent out emails asking everyone not to post songs off the album.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh YES I knew there had to be some new SMD before their Ultra appearance.. They blew me away live last year at an after-party. As for MSTRKRFT.. there’s more guests on it than most rap records, jeeze.

More of the same is how it’s best described here. Used to be a fairly big fan, but that was like, 2 years ago. Unlike DFA1979, this stuff isn’t meant to last.

I always preferred SMD to Justice or MSTRKRFT, seemed like they had more substantial tunes. I enjoyed The Looks, but I have to say if that leaked mess really is Fist Of God, I’m pretty disinterested. I was worried after hearing ‘Bounce’, but apparently I had no idea what I was in for. Repetitive beats and guest rappers do not a good record make.
