New The Killers Forget About What I Said listen The Killers’ Day & Age is out November 24th (a week from now!), and only 2 songs off the actual album have leaked: the first two singles “Human,” and “Spaceman.” Though “Human B-Side “A Crippling Blow” has also made it to the internet. This new leak, “Forget About What I Said” is either a new B-Side or a Bonus Track to Day & Age.

What’s going on here? Why isn’t Day & Age leaking? I understand holding out because Kanye and Britney’s albums were leaking… but I expect this week to be Killer-filled! I will be one unhappy blogger if it’s not!

The mp3’s quality is hardly acceptable, at a measly 128kbps but its great for sampling, what sounds like, the makings of a great song. This particular track seems to fall under the post-Sam’s Town era, or something that might have belonged on Sawdust. I’d much rather be listening to tracks off the album itself, though.

UPDATE: Oh wait, nevermind.

Spaceman is awesome. I also like Crippling Blow, This Is Your Life, and A Dustland Fairytale. It’s not as good of an album as I was hoping for when I heard the first few leaks, but it’s solid.

couldn’t you guys just wait until the album came out? I mean the band didn’t exactly want people to listen to it before the release date and download it for free off the net.

Day & Age is just straight up phenomenal. In Sam’s Town I felt like Brandon thought some people weren’t really sold on the killers. They had heard of them as “the” buzz band at the time. So I’m sure he felt immense pressure to write some great lyrics, i thought Sam’s Town lead track was very telling :

Why do you waste my time?
Is the answer to the question on your mind
And I’m sick of all my judges
so scared of what they’ll find
But I know that I can make it
As long as somebody takes me home,
every now and then…

Even though some people thought Sam’s town was the wrong direction for the killers, i thought it brought a very distinct difference to what we had already heard from them in Hot Fuss, and to me, that a. ok.

With Losing Touch and this whole album I feel like the band can finally just be themselves. I read stories leading up to this album that Hot Fuss was basically a demo, Sam’s Town was recorded in the Palms with playboy bunnies running around (for a Mormon that must be interesting). But this album they finally were able to do it they way they wanted in their own secluded studio. With Losing Touch the lyrics show it;

I’m in no hurry, you go run
And tell your friends I’m losing touch
Fill their heads with rumors of impending doom
It must be true

He’s basically saying whether you like us or not we’re here, and we are THE KILLERS!! And to think with all three albums they have a fantastic catalog to choose from now live, I can’t wait to see the show in Denver in Jan!!!
