A match made in Los Angeles heaven it seems. The Ambassador of Funk himself, Dam Funk, and disco enthusiast Nite Jewel are apparently working on a full length together for Stones Throw, which would be aptly titled Nite Funk. As a preview of good things to come, Nite Jewel has released the It Goes Through Your Head 12,” which enlists production from Funk, the b-side featuring a Samps remix of the track. Funk, who had a breakthrough year in 2010 with his collection of vintage funk, offers his usual m.o. on “It Goes Through Your Head:” squeaky clean synthesizers, old school drum kits, and a uber-funky bassline., all of which sound wicked alongside Ramona Gonzalez’s dreamy vocals. It Goes Through Your Head 12” is out now via Mexican Summer. Listen and download below:
