Nosaj Thing’s Myspace and Last.fm bio’s both call him “without a doubt, among L.A.’s finest musical modulators,” and goes to say that “his electronic soundscapes and wild beat tectonics play like vignettes that affect the listener’s mind as deeply as he hits their soul.”

Well, then. This is some intense stuff.

Nosaj Thing’s debut album Drift was released last summer — June 9th to be exact — and peaked in the Top 5 on iTunes’ Electronic Chart. So far I’ve been dazzled by the vocabulary used utilized by Nosaj’s PR whiz kids and impressed by his chart-based success. I’m also impressed to learn that Kid Cudi sampled Nosaj Thing’s “Aquarium” in “Man In The Moon (The Anthem)”, but I’m impressed the most with his Flying Lotus-meets-Dubstep take on syncopated beats and genre bashing.
