N.E.R.D. – Hot N Fun (feat. Nelly Furtado)

Yes, the stupid in the Katy Perry-inspired songtitle may hurt your head, but this new N.E.R.D. jawn means serious business. Like Pharrell says in the song, the bass line is hypnotic. It’s alluring and repetitive qualities make “Hot N Fun” ideal for any dance floor. This song is indeed made for people who “don’t want to think no more… just want to feel”. (read more to listen)

RECOMMENDED: Dom – “Living In America” and “Burn Bridges”

Dom is one of the great instances when the art and the artist reflect each other perfectly. The trio consists of Erik, Bobby K, and front man Dom. In a Pitchfork interview these funny and playful guys choose to not give up their last names because of a significant amount of debt (student loans, taxes, etc.) they had accumulated. Good thing Dom chooses to turn to fun and accessible sythn-pop for coping, because the end result is wonderful. (read more/free downloads)

Delorean – “Grow”

“Grow”, a single and shining moment from Delorean’s delightful debut, Subiza, is either a short and sweet blisscore hit or a long, danceable pop gem. (read more to listen)

Caribou – Odessa (Junior Boys Remix)

Nite Jewel‘s excellent remix of Caribou‘s “Odessa” was included on an 12″ released by City Slang. The label is now streaming the whole release on its SoundCloud page. Accompanying Nite Jewel’s contribution is an extended remix by the Junior Boys. Earlier this month, Junior Boys also remixed Yoko Ono’s classic “Give Me Something”. (read more to listen)
