NYU

This summer has really been a non-stop roadtrip! Mostly, I’ve been visiting old childhood friends and family from all over the country. Growing up with 6 or 7 cousins wasn’t always fun (yeah, it was…) but now that we’ve grown up, its really great to go visit each other at school. Over the last few weeks, I’ve visited friends/family at NYU, Penn State, University of TX (UT), BYU in Utah, Uni. of Massachusetts, Uni. of Maryland, and Uni. of Los Vegas. Having fun with the college kids in those cities was great and I was excited to find out a lot of them were into some insanely cool music. Which gave me an idea.

According to Quantcast, the leading internet research service, 54% of Pretty Much Amazing readers are 18-34 years old and 64% of readers are in, or have attended college/grad school. So, in a sense, Pretty Much Amazing is a great cross-section of current or former college kids. Thus, I present the PMA College Music Project.

The basic concept of the PMA College Music Project is simple. Those of you that are or have been in college, live in a college town and are shamelessly embracing the college culture more than you’d like people to know SHOULD email me with a list of 5-10 songs that seem to be pervasively ubiquitous around the dorm parties, campus bonfires, whatever. Once a week–say, Wednesday? — I will assemble a list of a Campus-specific mixtape/playlist. This could be fun. Maybe even a possible podcast if the reception is positive enough. So, email me already!
