I secretly love and ’s “California Gurls”, and now that Inner Party Ssystem and have come over and remixed the track to oblivion, I feel somewhat validated. inject the track with that dance-hall heat that wouldn’t feel out of place in an upcoming Diplo/Major Lazer mixtape. The remix is void of that all-too-familiar, earworm beat, and well, Katy Perry — almost. The Remix focuses on Snoop Dogg’s verse before letting Chiddy drop one on us. You can download the remix below:

UPDATE FROM : I had nothing to do with that. Katy Perry is a label mate so EMI asked Chiddy to spit on an existing remix. No Xaph. Thanks!

This is NOT Chiddy Bang’s remix. It was a remix of California Gurls originally done by Inner Party System. Google it. EXACTLY THE SAME. Sure, Chiddy raps over the beat for 30 seconds, but that does not make it “their” remix. I can only assume that this is blatant plagiarism, and if so, I have lost most of my respect for Xaphoon and Chiddy.

Sorry, that was a mis-communication error on my part. I’ve fixed the post.

Chya, Xaphoon could do way better. Chiddy should NOT have signed with EMI… Bad call.
