Q&A Friday: Coachella. Giving Away Merriweather Post Pavilion on Vinyl.

Click on the turntable on the left to listen to a continuous stream of music featured on Pretty Much Amazing - updated every day. For more, you can check out the Best Songs of 2012.

Saw this at about 4am this morning. Was too tired to post it up then, so here you have it!

That is a fantastic lineup! I think I like it better than last year. Saturday is going to be AMAZING — Killers, , , , ! If I had to choose only one, that would be the day.

Do you guys have your tickets? I don’t. Wish me luck on nabbing 3-day passes before they sell out. What are your thoughts on the lineup? Everyone seems to be raving about it so far.

Anyway, so this week’s question is another easy one: Who are you most excited to see at (in person, or via AT&T’s Blue Room magic)? And if you’re feeling dirty: Do you not like the lineup? Who’s missing?

And this is the first time we don’t have a sponsor for a Q&A Friday. Big bummer [sad face]. Ok let me plug this real quick, so this doesn’t happen again:

Are you interested in promoting your new product or event in a way that engages thousands of young, savvy, music fans? Email me for more info!

Yeah, that’s how it works, guys. Oh but just because we don’t have a sponsor this time doesn’t mean I’m not giving anything away! I’m expecting a new vinyl order to come in today (it’s my new years resolution to collect as much vinyl as I can), and I’m going to have an extra copy of Merriweather Post Pavilion gathering dust, so I’m going to give it away here.

The lineup is pretty awesome. Morrissey, MBV,Paul Weller, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Silversun Pickups. Only things that are missing are a big electronic act and a headliner for Saturday.

I’m not going to get into who is missing but will say that I agree w/ you on Saturday being the best. Although if I went just Saturday I’d be really bummed about missing Yeah Yeah Yeahs on Sunday. DAMN YOU COACHELLA! DAMN YOOOOU.

most excited for: almost impossible to decide!!! but being that the musical gods are looking kindly upon us this year, a lot of these acts are touring, so i’m gonna get to see them before hand (i.e. the presets, peter bjorn and john, white lies, friendly fires, etc)
but i guess, i’d say My Bloody Valentine, i think they are one of those bands that you just have to experience live! and since i didnt get to see them this summer… cochella would be a good time.
so if I had to choose a day, I would unwillingly say, Sunday. The Cure + MBV + lots of other awesomness, is just too much. But that doesn’t go without saying that I’d be totally bummed to be missing Morrissey, white lies, TV on the Radio… :(

i’m not gonna lie, i’m in a really good mood today, so this seem amazing the way it is. the only band that maybe i’d say is missing is radiohead, but they were there last year, and i just say that because i’m obsessed.

I like all the headliners, but I’m most excited about friendly fires, crystal castles, liars, N.A.S.A… and the possibility of a disaster – between brian jonestown massacre and amy winehouse i expect at least one catastrophy.

Amy Winehouse! Still haven’t given up.

Exciting to see Fleet Foxes, Girl Talk, Crystal Castles, and the Killers. Would like to meet Lupe Fiasco.

The lineup is missing MGMT, Animal Collective, and Kings of Leon…among others.

Ridiculous nonetheless. PMA Approved.

Killers-100%! They always put on one heck of a show… solid tunes back to front minus the babble (and minus the annoying Freddie Mercury – Dirty Sanchez) moustache that BFlo had going on. And, anytime I can see ole’ boy from My Name Is Earl rock out on stage like that… oh, wait.

How could I rip on the lineup? I’m in an awesome mood! After all, I am “Sugar Baby, a Sugar Daddy, a Boy Toy, a Sugar Mommy, a Mistress & Benefactor” in all one!

Good night. Be here all week.

Very well rounded festival. I would have liked to see a newish hip-hop act, like Wale. And happy MGMT won’t be ruining the festival.

I’m so sad Radiohead isn’t playing, that is my only complaint.
Suprised at how good sunday is.

…Paul McCartney? Really?

I’ll tell my parents to get their tickets asap…

and the Killers are just run of the mill nowadays.
But I mean, these guys are ultimately about making money, right?

Most excited for MACCA! Where is Animal Collective? Lineup is ok…Killers headlining Sat. night? Don’t agree with that…

Greg February 1, 2009 at 9:04 pm

One of the strongest lineups in recent memory. The top 1/3rd of every day are just all-star talent all around.

I am excited for The Black Keys :)

and I totally agree on MGMT and Animal Collective missing from the weekend. :(

Friday especially looks awesome. Girl Talk, The Black Keys, NASA, plus seeing Beirut at a big festival will be interesting. Agree with others though- where is Animal Collective?
