It’s finally here! It’s been over two years since Fleet Foxes released their debut self-titled album to massive critical acclaim, blending blues and folk wonderment with poignant tracks like “White Winter Hymnal.” The quintet had previously stated the highly anticipated followup would arrive this year, and we’ve just received the first glimpse.

The title track, “Helplessness Blues,” is a ballad that delivers in every way we could have dreamed: it’s grand, brimming with acoustic splendor, harmoniously intact, of course, and diligently arranged. Robin Pecknold’s vocals are uncanny as always, working as an instrument of its own, leading the gradually building drums and bluesy guitar strings.

Fleet Foxes – Helplessness Blues

Helplessness Blues will come out May 3rd via Sub Pop….It will be hard to last until than but will definitely be worth the wait.
