So last week singer/songwriter Ryan Adams covered Vampire Weekend. Or, I should say, it seems he is covering Vampire Weekend, the album. Maybe?
He started out with a video of him covering “Mansard Roof”, which was pleasant enough. It goes without saying that his thoughtless rendition sound beautiful. Then a few days later, he posted up another clip, this time covering “Oxford Comma”. Most recently, he’s covered “A-Punk”. Anyone intimately familiar with Vampire Weekend’s self-titled debut album (most of you reading this, I’m sure) will instantly recognize this sequence of songs. He’s covering the album in order!
Adams, for now, is playing coy and saying that its his love of playing and sharing music that is driving him to upload videos of Vampire Weekend covers. Whether Adams will make it through all of Vampire Weekend is anybody’s guess, but for now it’s a fun project.
You can watch all of Ryan Adam’s videos on his Facebook page, but below you can find MP3s of his covers.
