This is the first new tune from Melbourne’s lo-fi garage duo, Super Wild Horses, since they released last year’s debut record, Fifteen. The girls, who share instrumental and vocal duties, have released new track “Black Book” on a split 7” with Boomgates, which is out now via Goner.
The track has many minimalist elements, customary to the duo’s motif, lacking entirely in bass and ample in noisy guitar riffs, dual vocal harmonies and low pitched drum kits. “Black Book” is short and sweet, with a catchy hook and weird, interesting lyrics: “You’re the monkey in the tree, you’re the fishes in the sea.” Download your copy below:
