“Hell” is the first single from Tegan and Sara’s newest album, Sainthood. Sainthood was written in by the girls in New Orleans and produced by Death Cab For Cutie’s Chris Walla.

“Hell” departs from the Canadian duos somber sound and penetrates an almost punkish vibe. Their harmonic voices are channeling for the steady drumbeats and lashing guitar. It has an interesting flare, showing promise of their forthcoming album and book adventure.

As if a new album wasn’t enough for the two, they are also releasing their three book set, ON, IN, AT alongside their album. The book captures periods of the girls’ lives (2008 US tour, 2009 Australian tour and writing for Sainthood) in writing and photographs.

The duo has announced that you can start pre-ordering the album now via iTunes. The complete album is due out in late October.
