Pop punk forefathers the Get Up Kids broke their three-year hiatus and silence in 2010 with their first EP in six years, Simple Science, and they’re poised for an even bigger 2011. The band’s first full-length record since 2004, There Are Rules, heads for release this month. “Shatter Your Lungs” is the first offering from that upcoming record –- it’s bright, fun electropop, heavy on the synth, endlessly groove-able.

Every element is set off-beat just enough to be completely mesmerizing. If you like Matt and Kim, this band just might be the reason why they exist, and this song just might be right up your alley. Check it out.
