The Gossip are prepping to release their Rick Rubin produced, Music For Men on June 23rd in the US, and so far, first single “Heavy Cross” is one of my favorite tracks of the year. “Dimestore Diamond” is the latest track to leak from the album, and it happens to be the album’s opener. The song opens with deep penetrating drums and a deep south bass line — cue Beth Ditto’s sultry, but tame vocals.
Nothing too exciting happening here, but as you can imagine, “Dimestore Diamond” is the soft, sweet track that ushers in the dance-punk goodness of “Heavy Cross” and hopefully the rest of Music For Men follows suit. Listen to “Dimestore Diamond” here

“Heavy Cross” will be remembered in 10-15 years as one of the best songs of this decade. Especially the Fred Falke remix.
This new one’s not single material but I like it.
