Summer is, without a doubt, my favorite time of year for various reasons. If you’re a regular reader to this blog, you will know that as soon as the weather starts warming up, I start looking for the summer anthems at will soundtrack those hot days at the beach and warm nights in damp clothes.
The Soft Pack’s wonderful self-titled debut, which I just listened through for the first time, oozes mindless summer fun out of every track. Per Will‘s suggestion, “Mexico” became an early favorite of mine, but its far from being the only highlight on the record. Listen to it.
With its devil may care strummin’ bass line and frontman Matt Lamkin’s relaxed, cool vocals, “Mexico” can easily become this Summer’s essential jam.
