Scottish trio The Twilight Sad have been making straight-up anthemic jams since 2003, and “Another Bed,” the first single from their upcoming third record No One Can Ever Know, is the band’s foray into updated post-punk you and your dad can get into.
Those massive, industrial thunderclap drums, those opaque planes of noisy, distorted, ‘80s-inspired synth, frontman James Graham’s excellent brogue – it’s that cold, gritty Factory Records sound in a neat, catchy, appealing package that keeps with the band’s constant musical rainy mood. The sky’s always gray in this one. Stay tuned for the record, coming February 7.
