A few weeks ago, mysterious “indie R&B” duo The Weeknd announced not one but two new mixtapes due out this year. The first of which, Thursday is slate for a “summer release.” We’re now hearing that Thursday might come sooner than later.

In late May, released the great “Rolling Stone” onto Soundcloud and set the net ablaze with speculation. Earlier tonight — Wednesday night — The Weeknd drops another new track, the percussion heavy “The Birds (Part I)”. Is it possible that tomorrow morning will greet us with the Thursday mixtape? It’s all entirely possible, but for now, check out “The Birds” in all its drum-line glory.
