The San Franciscans known as Thee Oh Sees are noted for their tendencies to play the psychedelic or garage varieties of rock, but their first output in 2013 sees them in a more typical alternative rock mode. Which is not to say it’s bland or anything–we think it’s a turn that works quite well for them. More than anything, “Minotaur” leaves us intrigued to see where they take the rest of their album. Download an mp3 here.

Floating Coffins, their next LP, drops on April 16 via frontman John Dwyer’s Castle Face label.
