Two Weeks til Chrismas? Oh My Damn! music mp3 How did this happen?! I’m nowhere near done with my shopping, I’m not ready for all the family festivities and worse of all, I didn’t do my “Is It Too Early For Christmas?” Christmas songs series. I guess I have some catching up do to.

Jason Mraz ft. Tristan Prettyman – All I Want For Christmas Is Us: This is one of my favorite acoustic boy-girl Christmas songs ever.  Actually, this is my favorite acoustic boy-girl song period. Tristan’s and Jason’s voices are perfect Christmas song voices in a non-Tony Bennett way.

Coldplay – Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas: Holla at KROQ for bringing this soon-to-be classic Coldplay rarity. “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” is one of my favorite Christmas songs ever, though I’m pretty sure “Jingle Bell Rock” takes the crown. Anyway, Chris Martin did good on this one. I sort of wish Prospekt’s March was a Christmas album now.

The Killers – Don’t Shoot Me Santa: This song certainly made my Christmas last year. Classic Killers song. Classic weird Christmas song.

Sufjan Stevens – Did I Make You Cry on Christmas Day?: I wasn’t planning on writing about this one at all, actually. But I was shuffling through my Sufjan stuff on iTunes and “Did I Make You Cry…” popped up. I’m glad fate reminded me of this gem. Sort of embarrassing to admit, but I’ve found this song to be quite useful during Christmastime fights.

Death Cab For Cutie – Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home): I love whenever a band does a Christmas song to sound like something they would actually do. “Baby, Please Come Home” features traditional Death Cab keys, guitars and, of course, Gibbard’s angel-voice.

Download these Christmas songs after the jump:

Jason Mraz ft. Tristan Prettyman – All I Want For Christmas Is Us
Coldplay – Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
The Killers – Don’t Shoot Me Santa
Sufjan Stevens – Did I Make You Cry on Christmas Day

Nice stuff here. Strange, I find myself almost looking forward to christmas blog posts around this time of year. Just last night I strapped on my elf ears, put my cassette of Wham’s “Last Christmas” on, and danced around my miniature Christmas tree for at least a good half hour. True story.

Have you heard the new one from Goldblade with Poly Styrene (X-Ray Spex) on vocals? It’s got a gabba-gabba-hey riff and a Shadows solo with some Hare Krishna chanting on the fade out – great stuff! It’s great to hear Poly in full punk wigout after 30 years!

On Google Chrome and Mozilla FireFox all you do is right click the link, and click “Save Link As…” It should prompt a download menu immediately after.

I don’t get why people have problems with that…

Hello,

I saw that you like Jason Mraz's songs. I think you should check out this upcoming artist, Alexi Paraschos. His style is acoustic/soul/pop and he plays guitar and piano. Check him out. If you like what you hear, can you write a review on him on your blog?

Here's his site. myspace.com/alexisongs

Thanks!
