San Francisco’s prolific musician/songwriter Ty Segall, whose fondness for garage rock has been showcased solo, with The Traditional Fools and Party Fowl, is prepping the world for his forthcoming record, Goodbye Bread, the followup to last year’s Melted.
Segall had claimed that the record would be more relaxed and “song-oriented” than any of his previous albums, and is giving away first single “You Make The Sun Fry” for free. The song is riddled with his usual brand of bad ass garage rock geared noise pop, the resemblance to the late Jay Reatard still discernible, but it’s also leaner and more precise. Goodbye Bread comes out June 21st via Drag City.
