Vampire Weekend – Horchata
5 Oct
Vampire Weekend decided to give #musicmonday a spin, so they decided to give away “Horchata” for free. Talk about a band you’d want to have a beer with.

i was skeptical about contra… but i like this so far- its a little more electronic while still remaining very Vampire Weekendish
Not liking the electronics or Ezra's voice in this one. Sorry folks. I'm hoping the other songs from the album will be different.
Not impressed but the song grows on me.
I agree with knatterjack.
I'm a big fan of this one. Definitely an evolved sound but unmistakably VW. Seems like a bit of the Discovery sound made it into this.
The song is good, actually really good, but it seems like it is just more of the same from them…
It hasn't really impressed me as a track, but it sounds like it's going to be great when put into the context of the album.

i absolutely love this song. it has a fun, childish sound to it. i am not sure why, but it gives me a tingly Lion King/tribal feeling with the drums banging, the tambourines shaking, xylophones tinkling, and the “oh-oh-oh”s in the background.
it manages to stay very Vampire Weekend, but they are definitely exploring. i, personally, love it.
