The last time a big named decided to remix the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, it left a sour taste in my mouth. When I heard A-Trak dropped a killer remix of YYY’s “Heads Will Roll” at this year’s Lollapalooza, I knew I had to get my hands on it. Unfortunately, A-Trak has kept a tight lid on this one, only letting good friends like Busy P and Erol Alkan play it in their sets.

Thankfully, the ever-dependable Annie Mac and her BBC Radio 1 show, we now have a radio rip of this killer remix. Annie herself says that she thinks this remix is A-Trak’s best work to-date. I thank the magnificent Disco Dust for the full quality version of the remix.

For months I have said that “Heads Will Roll” was the most remixable track of ’09, what “Kids” was in 2008. “Kids” had Justice Pet Shop Boys and Soulwax remixes to its credit, and I believe “Heads Will Roll” deserves the same quality of treatment.
