Adam Lambert For Your Entertainment stream music

Atrocious album cover aside (why couldn’t he just gone with the single cover pictured above?), Adam Lambert still stands as one of the most talented people to ever walk off the American Idol stage.

His whole Sasha Fierce meets Lady GaGa meets post-Chris-Brown Rihanna look really irks me, but his album’s first single and titular track, “For Your Entertainment” has hit potential. It sounds like Queen, it sounds like Bowie, it sounds like Goldfrapp — a male Lady GaGa without the killer hooks.

The hook on “For Your Entertainment” is fine, but nothing that will stand out or keep it relevant for more than 2-3 months. After listening to it a few times (in not-so-great quality), I’ll admit that it’s a decent tune. I think it’s about time American Idol fashioned out an electro-pop star. Listen to it here:

Actually no, it doesn't sound like Black & Gold at all. A similarity in the beat, but that is all. Black & Gold has no hook. FYE has a hook, albeit weak…but something to remember.

i personally hear a crappy black and gold

lets define hook.
A hook is a musical idea, often a short riff, passage, or phrase, that is used in popular music to make a song appealing and to “catch the ear of the listener”
The term generally applies to popular music, especially rock music, hip hop, dance music, and pop. In these genres, the hook is often found in, or consists of, the chorus. A hook can, in general, be either melodic or rhythmic, and often incorporates the main motif for a piece of music.

hmm, Black and gold, black and gold, black and gold. that caught my attention and was somewhat memorable…

song is weak, quality won't change it. aside from gaga too many artists are jumping on the “if it's electric it will sell” train, making crappy songs with decent beats.

Alejandro and Bad Romance are examples of elector gone right, this song is just all wrong, and is for no ones entertainment.

Probably once radio eats it up and plays it out, i might be able to get into it.

it's only ok… I excepted a lot more from him. I was a fan of his on AI. I pictured him doing goth-rock type stuff, not these stereotypical “look, i'm gay!” career moves he's been making.

Personally, I think his album cover is risky and really cool. :)

He is a complete creep. I loved him when he was on American Idol but now I think he's just gross! Ok, you are gay and over-sexed, thanks, we get it. Who cares?! I only know/tolerate/care about you because of your music so prove yourself through that. He has a great voice but this song is forgettable.

What about this sounds like Queen or Bowie?

haha his vocals are very Freddie Mercury. I think he meant if Queen + Bowie were to get together in 2009, it would sound a lot like this.

Could we not classify Rihanna as “post-Chris Brown”? It seems a bit disrespectful. Or at least phrase it as: “post- emancipation from abusive dick-bag Chris Brown”?

Black and gold was an unabashidly camp pop effort. He’s either to contrived or not fully realized yet- or worse- a prissy pop princess wannabe
