It’s been a great week for covers on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge – London Grammar doing La Roux, Kings of Leon doing Robyn, now Arctic Monkeys doing Drake’s smooth, sexy Nothing was the Same slow jam “Hold On, We’re Going Home.” The end result’s fantastic – layered background vocals, a bubbly bassline and some distorted guitar back up Alex Turner as he does his best to upstage Drake at his own game. Bonus: “I want your hot love and emotion endlessly” is a lyric we could picture Turner including in one of his own songs. Check it out – remember, Arctic Monkeys’ AM is out now.

Charlotte Aitchison’s second LP is a warhead, a sonic sour bomb that conceals sneering attitude and caustic kiss-offs beneath an initially shimmering pop sheen.
