All we know about The Child of Lov is that it’s the project of a 25 year old Georgia-via-London-via-Paris-via-Amsterdam musician named Cole Williams, who somehow has a knack for finagling big-name guest stars, and who apparently had enough creative energy to drop both a debut record and a mixtape of tracks left on the cutting room floor this week. You can check out two tracks from the debut record now – “One Day,” which features Damon Albarn of Blur/Gorillaz fame, and “Owl,” which features the cult-rapper DOOM.

Don’t let the impressive guests distract you too much from Williams‘ songwriting, though – he’s got a knack for soulful, creepy vocals layered over eerie, haunted-sounding beats. Though both songs are great, we’re particularly excited about “Owl,” with its disorientingly off-kilter beats providing a perfect foundation for a delirous verse from DOOM. Check it out – The Child of Lov’s self-titled debut is out now.
