VW have officially announced that “Cousins” will be the new single off the upcoming Contra. The single will be backed up by the B-side is “California English Pt. 2″. The single will be released on XL Recordings on 12/15.
The good news doesn’t end there: PMA is giving away 5 copies of the Cousins 7″. To enter:

Really different than normal VW… and much better than the first two singles from Contra. I felt that those were just repeating (and not as well) the great stuff from the first album… soo different.

I’d love to win one, this is my absolute favorite band. Literally every single part of this song is amazing, from the wacky intro riff to Chris’s intricate rhythm section, and the bells at the end. Absolute genius. I’m not sure if I like this or Horchata better though. The vocal line throughout that song mixed with those African tribal drums and the glockenspiel is just so sick.
