I am loving this fresh wave of MGMT-esque music! Hockey seem to be the front-runners, garnering some sweet publicity all year long. I even hear their song, “Too Fake” on JC Penny commercials now. And man, is that a fun song.

Hockey – Too Fake
from Mind Chaos (out October 6th)

There’s a RAC remix of “Too Fake” that I’m itching to post, but I’m not allowed to… so let’s hope it gets cleared soon. It’s fantastic.

Until then, we’ve got a new Hockey music video to watch of their new single, “Song Away.”

I’m glad their album will finally see the light of day… it’s pretty great.

Hockey sounds like MGMT? That’s the craziest parallel I have heard in a while. I would say more but I would just end up insulting MGMT.

Yeah. I don’t see the similarities to MGMT. This song is more like Bruce Springsteen-inspired than anything.

Bruce Springsteen? Lol, that’s crazier than the MGMT comparison. Are we hearing the same song?

Anyway, these are great dance songs. I’m a fan now.

I don’t see how an MGMT parallel is that crazy? Though I think an LCD Soundsystem/DFA comparison would have been more accurate.

Yes, yes, DFA/LCD Soundsystem comparison would have been better. I agree.
