Hot Chip One Life Stand stream music

We’ve already heard the unapologetic melancholy “Take It In“, and now an mp3 for the titular track off Hot Chip’s fourth album is floating around. Everyone’s been saying it, and I agree — “One Life Stand” is an excellent title. The title alone merits the album two whole Pitchfork points to be added at the end of their review.

The song itself gets lost in the sea of mellow electro-pop that has already been brought to us by party-juggernauts (Simian Mobile Disco, Basement Jaxx) that are trying to tell us they’re getting old. In fact, “One Life Stand” bares a striking resemblance to the track Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor worked on with Simian Mobile Disco.

One Life Stand is out February 9th on Astralwerks. Listen to the lead single below:

It’s catchy, I like it. But it’s got nothing on their older work. “Over and Over” shits all over this.

I knew I was going to love it when I saw the image up there… and I was right.

I love Take It In and One Life Stand – if the rest of the album is just as good, Hot Chip will top any of their previous albums. This stuff is smoother and more listenable which is what I think they were going for.

I loved the last album, both dance and non-dance tracks. I like this track more then any of the non-dance tracks from the last album.
