Hot Chip – Take It In, New Album

Hot Chip Take It In, New Album listen
Earlier today, I mentioned that we’ll be listening to a new Hot Chip album in February of next year, and now I can report that the new album will be called One Life Stand (amazing title) and it will hit shelves February 9th in the US and on the 8th in the UK.

According to Pitchfork via NME, One Life Stand features drumming from Charles Hayward of experimental 1970s group This Heat as well as Leo Taylor of London indie band the Invisible.

What’s better yet is that we can now listen to the first track off One Life Stand, “Take It In,” thanks to the ever-generous Pitchfork and Lala.com. Listen to it after the jump:

I suggest you put this one on repeat.

  1. I’ve long-hoped I could be as in love with Hot Chip as all my friends, but I’m strictly a song-to-song fan (/ just “Boy From School” and “Over and Over” fan)… This gives me hope. :)

  2. sweeet, i thought i was going to have to buy tickets to a UK show to hear this. it would have been a good effort too seeing as im in Australia.

    It’s just so YUMMY!

  4. Who’s excited? I’m excited!!

  5. Actually I’m not sure this is going to be on their new album since it’s already been released on their Bugged Out Mix back in April. Not denying the greatness of the song though!

    • Pitchfork says it’s on the album. Hopefully they’re right, because I love the track.

The song on the mixtape is a little different than this one. I like the newer version a lot better, and am hoping that it is the one they use on their new album.

      • Yeah I definitely like this version better than the mixtape version…but is it just me or is there a lil something something missing? Or maybe I’ve simply been spoiled by their last albums.

        • I felt this way too. We’ve definitely been spoiled rotten. But there’s a… different quality to this. I don’t want to say “more mature,” but maybe a bit more controlled.
