What do we think of this? My first reaction was “eh.” I feel like aspects of this are cool (The logo, the album title itself), but overall, I think the “two people kissing” thing going on in the middle comes of a little bit lame and amateurish for a band as great as . What do you guys think? Props to Stereogum for the picture.

Aside from the cover, though, I already love what I am hearing about this album- a “power-pop” focus, a 3 “act” split…should be another catchy, hook-filled epic. I’m a big fan. What are your thoughts on this new album, or on Green Day in general?

The album is out in May and available for pre-order on Green Day’s website.

You know, the more I look at this cover, the more I kind of like it…

I’m excited for the new album, but I have to admit I miss the old Green Day, ie. “Insomniac” and before. I liked American Idiot and yes, the hooks are still there, but I prefer Billie Joe writing songs about love rather than politics, and I’m over the rock-bands-writing-operas thing.

I’m very, very excited for this! I think the album art is amazing, personally. The logo is fantastic.

Reminds me of Pink Floyd’s The Wall, don’t you think?

I lost respect for Green Day after American Idiot. If this is something different, great. Otherwise, no comment.

Is it supposed to be Banksy’s work, or a resemblance?

Looking forward to this album a lot. Green Day has never dropped the ball in a big way in my opinion. I hope this one will deliver the catchy punk pop goods once again.

The art isn’t that great, but it ain’t bad.

I think the Green Day art is very My Chemical Romance-y. It looks alot like the cover art for “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.” I like the idea though; I just wish they had made it more original or weird in some way.

I've been a fan for a very long time now, and when 21st Century Breakdown hit the shelves I bought it straight away. But the first time I saw the cover I really, really didn't like it. I had to listen to the album thoroughly before I could learn to appreciate it. I love it now, although I think the image on the back cover would have been better as a front cover :) It's awesome.
