Jay-Z – Off That (ft. Drake) (Prod. Timbaland)

The first couple of singles of The Blueprint 3 have been underwhelming, there’s no doubt of that. His last single, “Run This Town” featuring Kanye West and Rihanna should have been a shining beacon of hope and a highlight for B3, but sadly, it doesn’t even hold a candle to Clipse’s “All Eyes On Me” (I compare the two because they both feature a boring female hook, and other prolific rapper).

Hot off the still-impressive machine, “Off That” features a blistering hook brought to your ears by king of the summer, . It is by far the best B3 track I’ve heard so far. “Off That” will serve as The Blueprint 3‘s third single, but something tells me it won’t be as successful as “Best I’ve Ever Had.”

it does suck your d*ck. and mine. and everyone else’s.

no, i kid. it’s not that. In my opinion it’s better than Run This Town (mostly because Rihanna blows in it).

Definitely underwhelming. I still can’t get into drake’s either – mainly because all I think about when I hear him is “Degrassi – the Next Generation” (Canadian tv show he was in).

I was going to say that I hope the MGMT collaboration I was hearing about is better, but I can’t find a song with them on the track listing. I seem to have missed something.

apparently mgmt isn’t on the album anymore.. now it’s empire of the sun.

d.o.a. was much better than this. sounds the same all the way through and drake’s part is boring.

I like both Run This Town and All Eyes on Me – but they’re so different that you can’t even compare them. (Boring female singer in the hook? Not enough!)

D.O.A. was pretty mediocre.

i would guarantee you that if the song was released as Drake ft. Jay-z, it would be killing it right now. but since everyone has heard Jay-z’s recent struggles, he has to have drake there for half this songs audience to even listen.

are you all mental? this song is awesome, the beat is great and jay-z kills it. i can see the criticism of run this town (rihanna is annoying in it) and reminder, but d.o.a. and this are 2 of the best songs of 2009 so far imo.
