Lil’ Wayne’s “Prom Queen” Music Video: Whoops!

Yikes:

YouTube Preview Image

So this rock album is actually happening? Lil’ Wayne wasn’t just trying to play a brilliant prank on us?

What a terrible video. You know what: I shut it off midway not because of the video itself, but because I couldn’t take the song anymore. And I didn’t feel like muting my computer just to watch Weezy look at a girl’s underwear and run around with a guitar. So goodbye, “Prom Queen” video. I hope I never see you again.

Is this move to rock n’ roll as bad as I think it is for Weezy, or should we cut the guy some slack? Thanks to Videogum for the tip.

all u ppl that think dis is bad are some dumb weirdos what dont u like about it i love it

  4. jenny

i agree. all of the autotune in the world couldn’t make kanye a better singer and it won’t make weezy a rapper either

  5. Blake

Am I the only one who doesn’t think it’s ear-bleeding bad?

I mean, it’s not… NOT the best thing, but I feel like he’s trying something else. I mean, Kanye made a major jump and it worked for him. Who knows, maybe he’ll figure out a way to incorporate the rock and hip-hop aspect without it sounding like complete crap.

On a side note: Does anyone want to officially petition to destroy Autotune? In the song, he sounded like a 6 year old demon child for a second.

When did he get his lip pierced at the bottom… i’m sorry but not even he is pulling that off.. yeah they used too much of what ever makes lil wayne’s voice sound liek that other than that .. hmm it’s bearable .. will not get a place on my ipod though i but hay atleast it’s better than “let it rock” .. wtf was that

  10. He’s pulling an Eminem — by proving regardless of what he puts out, says, does, people will still buy his stuff at this point. Autotune needs to DIE.

I think the autotune is just overworked in this song. I mean it has potential to be pretty good, but I don’t know, it just doesn’t fit with how Weezy is “singing” it though. I do like him head banging though lol.

  12. Wow. This was actually painful. God I hope this is just some sort of sick joke.

Also, his “Prom Queen” looks more like a Drag Queen, lol

Warren, because its…*bad*. I, personally, dont hate it, but its a bad, bad song. I don`t like it. And this is from a Lil Wayne fan. I bought Tha Carter 3, have most of his singles, almost all of his mix-tapes, and Skys the Limit and DR. carter are two of the best rap songs ive ever heard. But this is bad. Im talking about the song, btw. 2 out of 5 stars, maybe. The actual video is HORRIBLE. I was hoping this was all a brilliant, phenoix-esc prank but i guess not. I love hot revolver, tho.

  14. Warren

I like it. I don’t know why everyone hates it. LOL.

  15. Yeah steven- I see that comparison.

Pretty bad career-shift in my opinion.

  18. HOR-RIB-LE.
Overuse of Auto-Tune (especially w. Lil Waynes voice) + Rock Beats = my ear exploding.
Lil Wayne + AutoTune + Hip hop/ rap beats = sex to my ears.
