The teenage Aucklander Lorde is (deservedly) well on her way to becoming one of the biggest names in pop thanks to her smash hit “Royals,” a late contender for song of the summer. Not one to rest on her laurels before the release of her excellently titled debut full-length Pure Heroine, she’s released another track from the record, “Team,” another ode to friendship and fun despite adversity. As usual, Lorde’s lyrics are fantastic and inspiring, and that production – particularly the opening a capella bit – is perfectly of-the-moment and wholly fitting. Check it out – Pure Heroine is out September 30.
