Personally, I go completely bananas for Confessions of a Dancefloor, my favorite Madonna album. Though I understand Madonna’s thirst for reinvention and evolution, I listened to Hard Candy through gritting teeth. I prayed for Madonna’s return to the Dancefloor.
To fulfill her contract with Warner Bros., her Madgesty will be releasing yet another Greatest Hits compilation, Celebration. According to Wikipedia, the comp will be released on September 28th and it features hideous drag queen Warhol art.
It has been announced that “Celebration” will be the disc’s lead single. Lyrically, this midsummer number is disappointing, even by Madonna’s standards. But for all intentions and purposes, it satisfies my quick summer throwaway fix. Listen to it here:

I feel like you have to be surrounded by a dance club to really enjoy this song. Otherwise, it feels kind of dated. “Confessions” played with house and disco so smartly, but this just doesn’t have the same vibe to me.
Yeah, you hit the nail on the head, Luis.
you might wanna check out the benny benassi remix/edit if you haven’t aleady. i think it’s one of the few remixes that outdoes the original. and it’s a lot more danceable to boot.
Luis – I agree, it will satisfy my Madge appetite for the moment, but there’s nothing lasting here. The first time I heard this song I was instantly reminded of the Above & Beyond remixes of “What It Feels Like For A Girl” — the synths are almost identical. It does seem like she’s been lazy these last few years. Although with that said, I will still gobble up any damn thing she releases.
