Madge and Weezy. That sounds filthy, and if you’re a pop culture junkie, those three words can bring a whirlwind of excitement or dread. As you might have guessed, I fall into the former category.
“Revolver” will be included in Madonna’s third greatest hits compilation, Celebration. The compilation already includes the nostalgic, 90′s-fueled dance number and first single, “Celebration.” With “Revolver,” Her Madgesty comes full circle, sucking the life of modern pop music as we know it — or music that includes that, oh so coveted, “[ft. Lil Wayne]“. Madonna can be credited and charged with taking a huge part in shaping the pop music we listen to today. Just about every massive, international superstar walking the earth today owes Madonna their career.
The funny thing about that is that “Revolver” bares a striking resemblance to Britney Spears’ “Radar.” Not a fleeting, barely-there resemblance, but an in-your-face, the-way-”Poker Face”-sounds-like-”Just Dance” kind of way. The only difference is that I don’t think Madonna could have done “Revolver” without Lil Wayne. On this track, we hear one of Lil Wayne’s catchiest and well-structured verses in a long while.
But after all has been said and done, “Revolver” is a good track. It even edges out its big sibling “Radar.” Don’t underestimate Madge and Weezy. Listen to “Revolver” here

Hmmm. You’re right, it’s quite Radar-esque. I like it. Definitely one that will grow on you.
waiiiiiiit a minute. the likeness to radar is too much for me. weezy’s verse is awesome though.
Undoubtedly, Madonna will close her era with Warner Brother’s with a BANG!!!…(pun intended).
Her 13th No. 1 in the USA and another smash added to her massive, legendary collection of hits worldwide! Long live the Queen!
from deian to madonna meet me there in-the pure and per-feet day ,I am go -ing home to stay,in the cit-y of be-light,where our faith is lost, heart with heart ana friend with friend in a world that ne’ershall end ?madonna i love you meet me there
Lil Wayne is a bit of a dirrian.
LMAO
the demo was a good 30 times better. her voice is over powered by the song.
Waynes verse has been done for months and its always sounded good, her part is the worse hot mess in a while, this song just got progressively worse as more demos came out.
if you like this one, listen to the earliest demo.
I agree with Anonymous. She’s a bit drowned out, which is sad because her voice is by far the best part of the song. But it’s still really catchy… Just like “Radar.” haha
Can’t stand Lil’ Wayne though.
weak , the demo with jackie boyz singing is much more powerful and her voice is clearer , why has she gone back to singing in that high pitch citca her material girl era where cats could hear her
I’ll never understand Madonna’s music…. what do you like about it is it the production work in her songs or do you really like her voice?
its all about her energy!
I prefer one of the demos, but this version is not too bad. Plus since it is a Madonna song i’m sure there will be plenty of good remixes.
Andy WARHOL
this song is hot i luv it and i luv madonnna and lil wayne:)
Madonna is pretty consistent and creatively progressive, despite sales and chart positions in some countries Madonna is still an amazing success especially for an industry so age concerned when it comes to the female species. Personally on my first listen to Revolver I was mixed in my opinion but further listens find me yet again drawn to the most remarkable and iconic woman in music. This track packs a punch and fuses dance and R&B effortlessly.
OMG they butchered it!
They butchered the intruments, the butchered the vocals and worst of all they butchered Wayne's rap. I know Madonna had to add her own lyrics so that she could claim royalties (hey, a girl's gotta make a living) but why mess with the structure? The first demo leak IMO was hot. That background voice during the chorus of that song was good, it added depth. This one feels like it's hanging in empty space. Her voice is high, but it's in line with most “Urban” artists these days and this is an “Urban” song.
The most disappointing thing about this is how they cut Wayne down. I hate the guy's music, I don't care for him, but his rap in the original is really cool and I was looking forward to it here. So what do they do? They cut the best part!
Maybe she did it to spite Warner Bros. the same reason she under marketed HC and instead went on a year long tour so she could earn all the M-dollas for herself and leave Warner with nothing. Afterall, she was with them for so long and they didn't even fight to keep her.
