On Saturday night, the ever-theatrical Kanye West hit SNL and delivered two big performances of his latest singles, “Power” and “Runaway”. It’s rare for anyone to get this dramaturgic on the Saturday Night Live stage, but if anyone (other than Lady Gaga, of course) were to do it, it would be Kanye. Chiddy Bang and Xaphoon Jones stopped by the studio with Billboard to record the last “Monday Mashup” of 2010. For those who don’t know, Monday Mashup is a series of live covers presented by Billboard and Starburst featuring fresh takes of classic songs by burgeoning artists. Chiddy Bang were charged with the task of covering Bobby McFerrin’s 1988 classic, “Don’t Worry Be Happy” while incorporating several topics into a freestyle.
