Are Americans insular or what? I really don't get that. Anyway, Muse need to be seen live. End of. Their own shows are best, but Aussies and Kiwis - if you can check them out at the BDO, do it - you won't regret it.
I like the album, I even like Undisclosed Desires (in it's owm way it reminds me of Map of the Problematique), but I agree that it isn't up there with Absolution or Black Holes & Revelations which was simply a divine album. Supermassive Black Hole isn't even the best song off that album!

I don't get why people in the US haven't picked up on these guys yet – why not? I think I just need to give it a few more listens so it can really grow on me as my expectations have become so high. I saw them perform in Philly a few years back and it was a phenomenal performance.

The Resistance is an excellent alblum, but I still like their other alblums a bit more. I wanted my $10 back after the first one. The music was kinda schlocky, and the lyrics were SO Bush-era. And the protest lyrics were sung with a kind of petulance, like a 10-year-old who seethes against his mom and dad for making him empty the dishwasher.

“They will not force us. They will stop degrading us. They will not control us. We will be victorious.”

I'll have to give it another listen. You think traveling around the world would lead them toward their own sound, not like Queen's.

This was def not their best album, not sure it deserved such high praise.
