Last night’s episode of Gossip Girl was my favorite so far of the season, but I was pretty slow on the musical side of things. That is not to say that the song choices were bad. On the contrary, actually. Last night’s episode included a really great cover of Hot Chip’s “Ready For The Floor” by Lissy Trullie, as well as one of my favorite tracks of 2009. Quick notes: I was specifically told not to let you guys download the Lissy Trullie track, so I put it up for you guys to stream. A real shame, this is something you guys should have. It’s really good. It sort of pisses me off that someone wanting to broaden her fanbase (congrats on getting on Gossip Girl!) like Lissy Trullie isn’t giving away tunes for free (especially a cover for f**k’s sake). Though I do hear that Hot Chip’s people are also holding off for this one. I will be fair though: she is giving away some of her original tracks away, like this one on NME.
Also, I hope “Animal” is the last Miike Snow track they play this season. It was used to great affect last night, as the closing track, but I think its time to move onto other bands, Alex. ![]()

Who knows, maybe it becomes a single (ready for the floor). The Fray made a video for their cover of Heartless, also Milo and Ayo technology, but all in all pretty bad episode music wise.

A lot of research has been done recently showing that there is a definite connection between the mind and the body. (Actually this refers to the emotions too but it sounds succinct to say “mind/body.”) Even though music healing is often related to relaxation and emotional issues, there is the likelihood that this indirectly could have a benefit on physical illnesses as well.

If you like the song…buy it for .99 cents for christ sake. Since it's a cover she probably is really not making any money off that anyways and theres a whole bunch of her other songs free online if you look for them. I hate how people think if an artist doesn't charge for their music anymore they somehow are adverse to making new fans or are not “broadening their fanbase” which is total BS. This is coming from a guy who actually paid for Radioheads last album though so what do i know.

I disagree…this covers completely blows in comparison to the orginall Hot Chip. If you want to hear a killer version, track down the acoustic version by Hot Chip.
