New Vampire Weekend Song To Debut On Tonight’s Late Night

New Vampire Weekend? OMG!!!

For the first time, we’ll be able to hear “White Sky” in all its afro-pop glory without having to go to a Vampire Weekend concert or listen to a crappy YouTube video. The song was great when I saw it performed live, with bubbly, Graceland-inspired guitars, the boppy keyboard, and Ezra Koenig’s melodic wailing. I’m sure it will be just as good tomorrow night.

Check it out on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, March 18th. Then check back here for PMA’s official review. Until then, however, we have a a QUESTION for all you readers:

Will Vampire Weekend be able to match the success of their first album with record number two? Or will they face the dreaded sophomore slump as their sound begins to tire? Comment away!

And click on for the aforementioned crappy YouTube video of “White Sky.”

David, it’s not Luis who’s writing these posts – its Adam ;) I hope that someone will put up the song..

  5. Luis, you NEED to post an MP3 of the song tomorrow.

I think Vampire Weekend’s sophomore effort will be what Favourite Worst Nightmare was to Whatever People Say I Am…

Vampire Weekend will deliver a second album full of fabulous afro-pop! I don’t think there is any doubt about it. They succeeded to give us thirteen GREAT tracks on one album and from what I heard, they still have a lot of material laying around that wasn’t included on the first album. I hope that you’ll inform us more about Vampire Weekends second album when it’s officially announced, Adam :D

  8. I cannot wait for the performance. And we can always hope for a collaboration with The Roots at some point.

I don’t think their sound will tire. At least not for me. I’m sure the ultra cool indie rock blogosphere will tear them to shreds. All their first album did was leave me wanting more. If they can produce another album of tracks with a similar sound, incorporating their own maturity and growth as a group they’ve no doubt accumulated, I’ll be a happy camper.
