Mr. Oizo & Gaspard Auge (of Justice) – “Tricycle Express”
You may know Quentin Dupieux has one of the leading providers of French house bangers, releasing music under the pseudonym Mr. Oizo, but what you may not know is that Dupieux is also a weirdo, left-field film director. His latest short film, Rubber, debuted at this year’s prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Rubber, by the way, is about a psychotic, murderous tire who kills everything in its path. I’ll let your what the f**k face sink in for a few seconds… As awesome and completely weird as that sounds, I do have even more awesome news: the short film is scored by Mr. Oizo, naturally, but also Gaspard Auge. You may know Auge has one half of Justice — maybe you’ve heard of them. (Continue Reading)
M.I.A. – “Teqkilla” (Lost My Fone Out Wiv Nicki Minaj Remix)
PMA: Are you kidding me Miss /\/\/\Y/\? First you get Jay-Z on a remix of “XXXO” and now you have Nicki Minaj on “Teqkilla”? Why aren’t these versions on your album? Surely you can’t be serious about leaving them out?
M.I.A.: I am serious… and don’t call me Shirley.
That is an excerpt of our extremely in-depth, super serious interview with M.I.A., which should be published sometime between the Mayan Apocalypse and Hell Freezing Over. While you wait for that, you’ve got to check this remix out.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: MNDR – “I Go Away”
We first discovered MNDR in Mark Ronson’s big-wang’d new single “Bang Bang Bang“. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who thought Santigold was somehow involved in another lawsuit, forcing her to change her stagename, once again, when MNDR came on the track. It’s true, MNDR, née Amanda Warner, sounds a lot like Santigold and her involvement with the charming and sterling Mark Ronson is familiar, to say the least. But let’s put conspirator coincidences aside for four minutes and let’s see what MNDR is cooking up for us in Brooklyn. I’ll tell you now, it smells f*****g delicious. (Continue reading)

Kick the new post-Independence Day work week off right with this Brainbheat’s remixes of Outkast’s Stankonia classic “Ms. Jackson”, Local Natives’ stellar “Who Knows, Who Cares”, off their immense debut album, Gorilla Manor, “Window Seat” from Erykah Badu’s universally acclaimed New Amerykah Part II, and finally the endlessly cheerful “Go Outside” by the mysterious and estimable Cults. Brainbheats, also known as Brian Healey, is also a member of hotly tipped PMA-faves, The Pass, and uses this solo project of his as an outlet to calm the ecstatic drum and bass fiend in him.
