Labor Day is arguably my favorite major National Holiday. I honestly feel sorry for non-American readers who don’t get to experience it. Those who know me tell me I am a bit too into this holiday and say things like “it’s not like its Christmas or Thanksgiving.” End of the year holidays like those are nice and all, but there is nothing like the holiday wrapping the summer up, for better or worse.
All summer long I’ve been listening to synth-y tunes with rolling, endless basslines, cheerful guitar riffs and, when appropriate, even a ukulele or two. Most of the music found on my Summer Playlist wouldn’t really be appropriate for a Labor Day, or its lingering affects. While we’re not full-swing into fall yet, we have to tone down the synths and bass — just a bit — and throw in some smooth, melancholy percussion and fuzzy guitars.
This eighteenth pmaCAST episode runs at just under two hours and includes the 28 tracks I played at a Labor Day day-party yesterday afternoon. Again — this episode doesn’t include chapters. However, I have figured out how to do them — it was just too late for this one. So starting with pmaCAST #19 (hopefully), each episode will include chapters/breaks. Isn’t that exciting?

Man that song Solid Gold is awesome
yes, it is
Does that mean we’ll see Title / Artist track info?
I don’t think so.. but you’ll be able to skip to track 17 without listening to the first 16.
