We learned not long ago that Porcelain Raft was releasing a record in 2013 – Permanent Signal, his sophomore effort, is out August 20. Here’s the first single from it, “Think of the Ocean,” which isn’t so much an environmentalist plea as it is a delirious, melancholic sheet of haze cut down to it’s most purely yearning musical form. I know that sounds a tad melodramatic, but press play – listen to those shivering, edited strings, Mauro Remiddi’s soft, confessional voice and lovelorn lyrics – and you’ll see what I mean.

Charlotte Aitchison’s second LP is a warhead, a sonic sour bomb that conceals sneering attitude and caustic kiss-offs beneath an initially shimmering pop sheen.
