In 2011, Jamie xx made an Essential Mix for BBC’s Radio 1 that featured some of his favorite tracks as well as original work, and no one bothered to dissect the mix and extract his new remixes until now: so here’s Jamie’s year-old but probably still new to your ears remix of Holly Miranda’s “Slow Burn Treason.” You need to put headphones on before you press play, otherwise you won’t get a taste of that Mariana trench-deep bass, droning into infinity under Holly’s isolated diva posturings, skittering percussion, and delirious, soaring string and synth echoes.
