Jamie xx must not have felt entirely satisfied with the final edit of “Sunset” that ended up on his band’s second record, 2012’s widely acclaimed Coexist, so here’s a stretched-out, grooved-up new mix he’s just released for streaming. We like how he keeps Romy Madley Croft’s and Oliver Sim’s confessional vocals unedited at the forefront while mixing in shuffling, clubby drum machine, sweeping sci-fi drones, and an irresistible, dreamy bassline. Check it out.
