The final set of tunes that will make up Radiohead’s TKOL RMX 1234567 album have brought us remixes from innovative British producers Jamie xx and SBTRKT, who tackle “Bloom” and “Lotus Flower”, respectively.
Jamie xx’s remix of “Bloom” is frustratingly brief and drone-like, without any of the wonderful idiosyncrasies of Jamie’s previous work. A big let down of what should have been one of the more interesting music pairings in a while.
SBTRKT takes on The King of Limbs’ complicated and pretty lead single “Lotus Flower” and incorporates intricate bass lines and overblown synths while maintaining Thom Yorke’s surprisingly earmworm-worthy hook.
All of these Radiohead remixes we’ve been hearing will be released on a compilation called TKOL RMX 1234567, as a double CD on October 10 in the UK and on October 11 in North America.
