On November 22nd, affecting Brooklyn indie rockers, The Antlers will release their new (together) EP, featuring collaborations, covers and remixes. We’ve already heard The Antlers effortlessly transform the xx’s “VCR” into a Burst Apart outtake. Now, one of the EP’s three remixes has surfaced.
Burst Apart lead single, “Parenthesis” has be remixed by Australian experimental post-rockers PVT (said “pivot”), rendering it almost completely unrecognizable. Peter Silberman’s haunting falsetto feels completely at home surrounded by the creepy, stuttering, revolving synths PVT throw on the track. Other “re-imaginings” on the EP include the SNRF version of “French Exit” (which you can listen to here), and Silberman’s own alternative take on the band’s best song to date, “I Don’t Want Love”.
