Tanlines Remix Gotye “Eyes Wide Open”

So it turns out Brooklyn is all over Gotye’s new single, “Eyes Wide Open” and we’re pretty much on board with that. Yesterday we heard existential dance rock purveyors Yeasayer take a crack at the drama-filled original and essentially turn it into a slinky extension of the sort of stuff they’ve been putting out lately. And today we get Tanlines’ own remix, presumably made a couple of blocks away from Yeasayer’s.

There’s a warmth and serenity on Tanline’s mix that “Eyes Wide Open” desperately needed. (It certainly helps that Gotye’s voice shines in this type of tranqual, one-with-nature environment.) We recommend you play this the next time you feel like dramatically floating down a calm lake or something.
